About Sandy

Sandra A. Peterson, CPA (Sandy) has over 25 years experience in taxation-including 20 years as an IRS Revenue Agent. Sandy is uniquely qualified to represent clients before the IRS and she does so with confidence and knowledge to back it up.

Sandy holds a BS in Accounting from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, MO and an AA in Business Administration from East Central College, Union, MO. Each and every year Sandy updates her knowledge base with at least 40 hours of continuing professional education.

During her tenure with the Internal Revenue Service (1985-2005), Sandy held the title of Revenue Agent, Senior Tax Law Specialist, Acting Territory Manager, Acting Public Affairs Officer, Earned Income Tax Coordinator and others. Duties included auditing income tax returns of individuals as well as small, mid-sized and large businesses. Sandy received specialized training in fraud detection and helped write training materials for new revenue agents. From 2000 to 2005, Sandy served as liaison between the IRS and tax professionals in Missouri and Kansas. Upon retirement from the IRS, Sandy formed Sandra A. Peterson, CPA, LLC and began putting her years of IRS training and experience to work for her clients.
